What are the VDH Made Not Mined Diamonds?

Are VDH Made Not Mined Diamonds ‘real’?

Simply put, yes. They are identical to mined diamonds. The only difference is the origin.

 

Is there a visible difference between lab-grown and Made Not Mined Diamonds?

Made Not Mined Diamonds are impossible to differentiate from mined diamonds with the naked eye or even using a jewelry loupe - which is what pro’s like us use to check diamond quality. Lab-created diamonds can only be distinguished from mined diamonds using specialized equipment.

How are Made Not Mined Diamonds created?

There are two main processes for creating diamonds in a lab:

One technique is called Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD). This method requires using a diamond seed in a plasma reactor chamber. Carbon gasses are released, and temperatures must rise over thousands of degrees for the atoms to bond to the seed. The seed grows, eventually forming a rough created diamond.

The other process is called High-Pressure High Temperature (HPHT). This method requires extreme mechanical pressure and temperature for the diamond seed.

 

Are Made Not Mined Diamond the same as cubic zirconia or moissanite?

 Do not confuse Made Not Mined Diamonds with other look-alikes or diamond simulants like cubic zirconia or moissanite.  Cubic zirconias are made with powdered zirconium and are not as hard or sparkly. Moissanite is also a natural mineral and lacks the hardness, color or shine of mined diamonds.  Mined Diamonds, however, are composed of pure carbon. They are the hardest substance on earth. Our Made Not Mined Diamonds have the same physical properties as mined diamonds. They emit the same lustre, fire, sparkle, and extravagance.
